I'm 47, haven't dated in a long time (got burned bad years ago), I'm working on my weight but don't feel very comfortable at the moment with it. But if I wait until I lose what I want, I'll be 90! I'm a very spontaneous person. I love to do all sorts of things. I'm fairly calm and patient - a good listener - and would love to find a strong relationship that would be nourishing and compassionate. But I have no idea where to start. I've done speed dating, singles parties, online services - nothing really worked for me. I think men on the dating services are looking for younger, skinny, prettier woman anyway, so I haven't had much luck with those.

It's real hard now a day to say to someone that you are the one. You must be patient. What you have to do is to keep looking for the guy of the same age or generation and the same experience in life. Post yourself on the net might be of help. Otherwise, try to socialize for every event and location. I wish you good luck.

until you are happy with yourself, no one will be comfortable with you. So, just do some baby steps. For example, join a gym and meet with a trainer. Get a regimine, and start doing it. As you start to take back control of your life, you will build your self esteem. The important thing here is not the destination, but the journey. And as you start down that road to self improvement, you will start to forgive yourself for not being perfect. You are the one with the problem with your weight, not anybody else. You just can't see it right now. So, take this time to regain control over your life, and the men will follow. Believe me, they WILL follow!
