Wondering if this might have been determined at some time in the past, that places like Delaware actually have a "Mediterranean Climate" (i.e. 'wet season/dry season' versus 'summer/winter').

I had several bottles delivered yesterday. The five gallon ones ones. As I was signing the reciept, I noticed one of them had, what appeared to be, a mouse floating around in it. When I asked the deliveryman about it, he said that no, it wasn't a mouse but a Kangaroo Rat. The bottleing company, in the interests of animal protection (it is an endangered species) is mandated by Federal law not to harm nor interfere in any way with the life nor reproduction of that particular species.

Well, I'm all in favor of protecting our wildlife, but it still just looks like a dead mouse to me.

Ok so lets say global warming really is happening. Then explain to me why the wolrd was ice before and melted. There were no factories and such before? What about that? Do you global warming people study history and realize that the world changes itself and is going thru a NATURAL change. If you people were alive back then u would of drove everybody with your theories about farting too much or something stupid. Please realize the world will melt and there is NOTHING we can do about it. The world will be a waterworld someday and thats mother nature. Nothing we do can change it. Please study your history books.

And you were presented with data that explained that solar variability was responsible for the temperature variations over the last 50 years, and there was a possibility that the world could experience a dangerous cooling episode in the near future, and all your theories were wrong, what would you do?

A) Continue with the deception.

B) Attempt to predict how bad things could be in the future.

Our vet has just killed our 4 sheep because 2 of them were tested for blue tongue and it was positive. Although the 2 with this infection were ill they were recovering and doing ok. Did he really need to murder the whole family. The parents had the vaccine for Blue tongue but the vet assumed that the strain the babies had was one with no vaccine. The vet also did not wait to see which strain of the virus our sheep had

In Potsdam this week 15 Noble Laureates and nearly 100 other scientists gathered to draw attention to global climate change issues. These are some of the most respected people in their fields and included Mario Molina -- the first scientist to prove that chlorofluorocarbons were putting holes in the ozone.

So what does it take for the disbelievers of climate change and those flat out denying its existence to face reality?

Can those saying climate change is false, assembly such a prestigious group?

Are they saying this many Nobel Laureates are wrong?

Seeing as so many sceptics seem so sure that "An inconvenirnt truth" is flawed, why has the public education system not been taken to court for showing it, as in the UK?

In a sceptics' position, that would be the responsible thing to do wouldn't it?

Several AGW doubters have once again raised the issue that surface temperature measurement stations are sometimes located in urban heat island areas. We've discussed this several times before, but apparently it needs to be discussed again.

"The evidence points to a warming of about 0.6-0.8°C over the past century and a neglible effect on this from the [urban heat islands]. While some 'contrarians' appear determined not to accept this finding, the evidence they cite appears thin indeed compared with the published research"

http://www.realclimate.org/index.php?p=43

Further discussions here:

http://www.logicalscience.com/skeptic_arguments/urban-heat-islands.html
http://www.nature.com/nature/journal/v432/n7015/abs/432290a.html

The fact that satellite measurements agree with surface measurements, and that there's no reason for nearby sources to provide steadily increasing amounts of heat should be enough to dismiss this claim.

i have to write two papers on global warming and i need sources for my political stand point... it's politicians vs. environmentalists so i need like books, newspaper articles, magazine articles anything actually physical that i can go get from the library maybe or look up and print but they can't be "internet sources" so they have to be in a physical book magazine newspaper or the sort. but what i'm looking for is the political view on global warming... any sources you guys can find would be very helpful... please let me know by either book and author or a link that has some good ones.

thanks so much again!

So many of you seem so sure that "An inconvenirnt truth" is so flawed, why not put your money where your mouths are and take it to court?

That would be the responsible thing to do wouldn't it? Unless you don't care that your children are getting exposed to it?

A recent report is urging the government to sponsor a demonstration of the technology used to harness solar power in hopes of spurring private investment.

Rising oil prices have made the technology more appealing, and would reduce the nation's dependence on imported oil and help reduce the production of carbon dioxide.

It would be almost 10 years before energy could be prduced in abundance.

Is there a downside to this?
