It is funny that he wins the prize right after his movie is judged to be inaccurate scientifically. And the judge only named nine places where the movie was clearly against the science. There are many other "facts" in the movie that are disputed among scientists.

When you check the record of the Nobel Peace Price committee and winners of the Peace Prize, you come to the conclusion that the committee and the Nobel Peace Price have very little merit. When people like socialist and pathological liar like Rigoberta Menchu, and Jimmy Carter, probably the worst U.S. president of the 20th century, are awarded the Nobel Peace Price, you know the Price is a joke, to say the least.
The committee cited the IPCC for its two decades of scientific reports that have "created an ever-broader informed consensus about the connection between human activities and global warming. Thousands of scientists and officials from over 100 countries have collaborated to achieve greater certainty as to the scale of the warming."
However, the IPCC’s claim to have found the “human fingerprint” in the Modern Warming was bogus when Ben Santer first altered the science chapter in the IPCC’s 1996 report, and it remains bogus today. None of the 122 lead authors of the IPCC report, released in August 2001, ha the opportunity to place a stamp of approval on every statement. Though drafted by a small group of IPCC scientists, the brief account of the main points used by the media and called the Summary for Policymakers, was actually edited and approved by a political body.
Concerning Al Gore, we all know that he doesn't practice what he preaches.

It means that global warming affects everybody, if you believe in it regardless of whats causing it. That means resources are changing water, rain, rising seas, higher temps ect will affect the ability all the plants people to fulfill their basic needs. If you actualy do the research you will see the planet IS changing. I have seen it with my own eyes in receding glaicers in the Pacific Northwest and in Alaska. This has nothing to do with insainty or work bashing, doing something about this could create more jobs here in the us. Most of the people I have known collecting welfare are uneducated frothing at the mouth conservatives.

It probably means a lot of things, but the two primary things that come to my mind are:
A) If the climate continues to cool and the world is in the grips of a New Little Ice Age as predicted by the middle of this century, Gore and the UN will be considered the biggest joke of the 20th century.
B) If the climate continues to warm and sea levels have risen a foot by the middle of this century Gore will be considered a hero and the UN will be running the world, and if I am still alive I will be eating an enormous piece of crow pie.

Al Gore isn't a scientist and his science needs some work but the bigger picture is undeniable. Al Gore had the clout to bring forward a very important issue in climate change and that did all of us a great favor by bringing the issue to the forefront.
Anyone that has any technical background can look at what we are doing and know the planet's problems are man made.
Anyone that thinks it is a natural cycle to rip down every tree, flood valleys for electricity and mow down everything living to put up dead absorbent material needs to get an education so you can add your voice.
Global warming isn't about just elevated temperature, the toxicity ratio in newborns is 100% and they don't have an immune system to protect themselves.
It isn't up to Al Gore to make changes, he is an administrator but I thank him for bringing forward issues that are poisoning my family. The entire process was ignoring that before.
I am happy global warming won the Nobel Peace Prize

Go ahead, sling your mud. Gore earned the Nobel Peace Prize by immersing himself in the cause. What have you done lately on behalf of your neighborhood, your state, your nation, the world? What Gore is working to accomplish can benefit all of those, and fortunately he and others don't need you to understand or agree with what's happening to move forward.
I suggest you work on your communications skills. The angry diatribe will only get you so far in this world, then everyone tunes you out and you're left standing in the cold.

Did Al Gore bring peace? No, he brought controversy will this whole "Global warming" thing. He doesn't need a peace prize if he didn't bring peace!

What it means is that the Nobel committe recognizes that Gore's work on GW is substantially correct, and seeks to amplify the message because they consider it important.
It's a sad commentary on the present state of American conservatism and American political discourse when a former Senator and Vice-President of the U.S. can be called "America-hating" and people believe it.

Isn't that what the Nobel committee wants? To make the USA socialist?
The sad thing is, they don't realize the Bush is trying to get us there with the NAU.
