So many of you seem so sure that "An inconvenirnt truth" is so flawed, why not put your money where your mouths are and take it to court?

That would be the responsible thing to do wouldn't it? Unless you don't care that your children are getting exposed to it?

If it's good enough for Nobel Laureates, then it's good enough for me.

"Mr. Gore was not here, but his name came up frequently. And the Nobel winners, far from nitpicking “An Inconvenient Truth,” the film chronicling his climate campaign, seemed to embrace it."

You got it wrong on the cow farts! It's actually the belching they want to curb. If it's as simple as that(genetic engineering), what do you care, it's no sweat off your nose is it? Just because something sounds stupid is no measure of scientific or as you put it, logical thinking. Ice is melting all over the planet, especially at the poles. That ice contributes to our jet stream, the major maker of our weather patterns. If the jet stream shuts down, that's bad news for everybody. Even if you're rich. You're going to have to pay more for evrything., and if you're rich that's not a smart way of hanging on to your money by showing a willingness to pay more for everything, just because you want to coddle your image of what sounds and doesn't sound logical. It has been taken to court. The court called it biased, said that it was 90% political ideology and 10% science and found 11 blatant inaccuracies. Follow the link or search "court inconvenient truth".

On what would you base such a suit? Anyone can publish whatever they wish as long as it isn't lies about people.

Here the best approach is to demonstrate the errors and provide the sources of actual facts.

Of course the there is the approach of simply laughing at this piece of political trash.

I found your question interesting. Tell me. if 10 years ago someone told you that we need to genetically engineer cows so their farts produce release less carbon. Would u think they were crazy? well people now are saying it. they are also saying a lot of other silly things like that. A logical thinking person would have a hard time getting their head around something like that.

The climate has changed so often in history and so consistently its boring. Heard of the ice age? the river thames was once frozen. They also grew grapes in scotland. Think about it. climate change has always existed. There were no SUV's or heavy industry in the 16th century.. how could climate change have occured??? It always has. consistently.

I suggest you do a little bit of research on it. I believed in it like you. Now i laugh at such suggestions. Also look at Archimedes principal about if ice is in water the level of the water will not rise if the water melts because the water level with a frozen object in it will indicate density. So if the ice caps are supposedly melting why would water levels rise?

anyways have a read up on it. u will see that people like gore and the ipcc are looking for money. grants and more money. but do some research!!!

also if you get the change try to listen to Jim ball on www.2gb.com. 12am-5am Australian eastern standard time. (gmt+10:00)

I donlt take things to court I disagree with, I just take one sided views as such, unbalanced.

There are many unbalanced things I read everyday (some newspapers, Yahoo posts etc etc), I just donlt blindly believe what everyone tells me, I find out both sides - like that the south pole is actaully getting thicker, and that the earth temp incresaed by 0.5degrees in the first half of the 20th centuary, and by 0.25 degrees in the 2nd half, that is, the rate of increase is actually getting less.

You obviously do not have a lot of experience with the civil legal system in the US. Your question should be, why not take the public education system to court? It is the real culprit in the matter, not the fictional movie in question.

I think your Avatar is horribly flawed, but I dont think we need to go to court over it. Even though 89% of the people I surveyed believe I could win.

I don't let judges tell me about science. I don't let scientists tell me about law.

I also don't let artists make anything useful, nor do I let engineers write poetry.

Sci Fi fans shouldn't do anything...

Even if someone were to take it to court, the person would lose because most judges are liberal and Al gore is a liberal and liberals stick together.
