Very well. Every month new species are discovered.

Warming is good for life. Cooling always brings a reduction in the number of species.

There were polar bears when the Vikings colonised Greenland about a thousand years ago and it was warmer then. There probably were polar bears 3,500 years ago when the climate was much warmer. Animals and plants will adapt, just as they always have. Historical records from the medieval Little Ice Age shows that cold adapted plants grew further south and warm adapted plants died off. When they couldn't grow grapes in northern Europe to make wine, they invented beer made from plants that would grow in a colder climate.

No, they will not have to learn to swim, as they will simply walk inland. If the sea rises an inch a year the animals and people will have plenty of time to keep their feet dry. Don't go into the panic and non-thinking hysteria that Algore promulgates.

The history of life on our planet show us that environments change (with or without man) and species adapt or die out.
In general a warmer climate favours an increase in species diversity, while a colder climate reduces diversity. Some species will change their home range, some increasing, and some decreasing overall. It is how it has always been, and always will be as long as life exists on this planet.
As part of my work, I have been mapping the distribution of a number of endangered species over the years. Where they have disappeared, the reason has always been the same ie. the site has been taken over for use by man, either agricultural, residential, industrial or commercial. It is the exponential growth in the human population that is endangering other species, not global warming

the impact would be that the animal populations will go done -possibly extinct! It's happening now, and already certain species of animals and plants have turned extinct. For example, think of the polar bears and how their population will change due to the melting of the polar ice caps...

Don't everyone forget, the planet and everything on it can adapt to anything through time. It might just be a passing stage of evolution.
The planet has constantly been changing for hundreds of thousands of years. It's just the way it goes, but we are the cancer on the planet.
Mankind is destroying it's self, but I think the planet will adapt.

Gnats which carry the virus which gives animals 'blue tongue' have already moved northward in to Europe from Africa.
The range of mosquito habitats will also be extended. We will probably have more malaria cases in the UK.
Fish stocks in our waters will change as the climate warms up.
Some animals, like Polar Bears, will probably become extinct.

this could lead to extinction of some species.

since global warming affects the climate, the climate affects the animals. Animals live in different areas due to their climates. When the climate changes, the animals will have a hard time adapting to their environment. When that happens, they might all die.

Some will do very well out of it I imagine. In the UK, there is a sub tropical species of parrot doing very well at the moment. Many, like the Polar Bear, will be wiped out very soon.

Every species on the globe is temperature sensitive as is their food supply. The toxins we put in the environment are affecting their reproductive capabilities.

Some better learn to swim. The water will rise.

The animals will get hotter.

It's going to be interesting. For more information on this topic. Live long enough to watch and find out.
