I appreciate that a NB going off in a stretch of water would probably cause tidal waves etc, but am i right in thinking it would only affect surrounding countries? If a NB went off on land wouldnt it affect the whole planet with the nuclear fallout?
Or am i totally wrong?

Even if we use some portion of it, why not try using a larger amount of ethanol like Brazil does? Is it for an economic reason that we do not?

This is not a global question this is a question from a western percpective. Global warming will mess up the world. But the impact on the US and the West will be much less than the cost to try and prevent it. Rainfall in North America will is projected to increase (a fact). Water levels will rise but we are not heavily populated we can adapt easily. If the west limits its pollution, the worlds biggest polluters (India, China, and Brazil) will continue anyways. China would never agree to reduce their pollution so why should we do anything. Don't worry the end of the world is not near, the only impact this will have is that people in the third world will die in epic amounts. If the population declines pollution will generally decline as well.

The fact is population is the number one source of pollution. The world cannot sustain such a large population with such living standards. If you really want to save the world go kill some chinese (a joke).

i don't know one way or another, but i'm tired of getting results from predetermined studies.....seems like every study done is done to prove warming is either true or not.......not a study going in with no stakes in the matter....

Our oil reserves are depleting fast and how long more can the economies and normal life last when oil reserves run dry? What can we use after this? Go back to wood/charcoal? Then all the trees will be cut down before regrowths are achieved and cause a major reduction in oxygen supplies. Nuclear energy is still very dangerous to handle and risky. Solar energy is seasonal and not all day long. Wind power is marginal energy, not always there to charge up huge banks of batteries. Marine wave power is not sufficient and depends on the tides. Countries with high mountains and hydro electric power will be saved from this doom as long as there is water in the lakes and reservoirs to run them. Maybe we all go back to the good old horse and buggy days again in no time at all.

if we can make railroads that go across america, why cant we just make a tube that goes across america and get rid of the extra water the east gets and give it to the west. we make oil pipelines that are over 1,000 miles. what are your thoughts?

It can change the imune system, but how bad? What can be the damage? I really doubt that it turns you into something worse, like a mutant. lol, which sounds silly, but what exactly happens?

Just regular rubbish like paper, cans and wrappers, nothing dangerous. Are you too proud. Or do you think that it's someone elses rubbish, someone elses problem, or responsibility?

Ok so lets say everyone in the US gets a Green car in the future what is going to happen then?
While each person is not dierectly burning fossil fuel, people will plug in their cars. Will this not lead to a larger draw on the power plants? A bigger draw on power plants causes them to use more fuel. Whether it is more uranium[HAZMAT], rubbish or coal. Which leads me to alternet fuel (ethenol) and more questions. It has a decreased MPG rating. And the increased demand on large farms to drive huge diesel burning tractors will contribute to the exact thing the alternet fuels are supposed to counter act. And you will not convince all the farmers to burn bio-diesel. And what about the increased HAZMAT waste created by all of the extra lithium batteries that will be produced and then destroyed?

I guess I'm lost as to the positive outcome of "Green" Vehicles.

Is this true? I haven't found any "news website" with this info yet.

If it is true, it is no surprise to me.

Everyone one loves to finger the U.S. but it seems that the U.S. is getting on board despite our own self interested politicians. Now the big thing is, will China and it's large industrial complex listen? Russia?
So when it comes to war and the demonizing of the U.S. the writing is always plainly written on the wall that if the U.S. weren't around to blame, then China and the power hungry ilk within would stand out more clearly.
When will the world accept that mankind is just plain to selfish and power hungry to ever ensure our survival on a global scale. So let our fate be as it may. Our greed will do us in.
Do you agree?

Ok well, Im doing a Science project on Global Warming: Co2 Levels and I want to know what the main component in plants that cause them to breath in Carbon Dioxide(Co2) and breathe out Oxygen.because I want to invent an air filter. Well it may not be invented invented like it willl work but just like for pretend.its like an Air filter that you put in the main component that the plants breathe in Co2 and breathe out Oxygen. Then the filter system begins and all the carbon Dioxide is sucked in by those plants and it might pass through some special tubes, then goes to other plants and trees, they also suck up the Co2 and finally release the Oxygen. So thats why I want to know what teh main component that causes the plants and trees to breathe in Co2 and breathe out Oxygen. If you still dont get it, what makes the plants and trees looks green or what gives the plants their green color? well its the Cloryphyl and Cloroplasts. Do you get me...its like, What causes it to do that. So pleasehelp

Having spent this week watching the orangutan diaries on bbc, I really feel absolutely disgusted that over 10 million acres of forest have SO FAR been destroyed for Palm Oil Plantations. We have a right to know just who the owners and supporters of the palm oil industries are , then we can all make our own descisions to boycott theses people and their companies and products. FOR GODS SAKE STOP THIS INSANITY NOW.
How do we start this ball rolling???????
