For instance the earth may me warming but so is the planet Mars. Man-made greenhouse gases account for only 2 percent of all of Earth's greenhouse gases. Water vapor and clouds are more important in global warming than the CO2 that Al Gore talks about. What about the massive burning of cow dung in India that puts small particles of dust into the atmosphere and actually cools the planet?

I can gather that some people believe the world is getting hotter. I wanted to survey why people believe this is, or is not, happening. For those who believe humanity is responsible, why do you believe this? For those who believe the contrary what causes you to think that this is not so?

What sources can we believe to tell us the truth?

We all love our cars!! I was surprised to find they the world champion killers. In many various way!! you know I've more on cars in my life than any other commodity! I was surprised to discover they the champion of all killers. More than all the wars or shootings, or disease! I'm 81 now and just discovering all this. If I were a young man, I would never buy a car; sure would like some of the money back that I spent on 28 different cars!! $723,000, sure would be nice to have some that for my retirement. Heck we are doing OK now; down here in Brazil. The cost of living is about 1/5 of the cost of living in the US; our Social Sec and my little retirement check is doing OK so far!!

I belive its all a myth there have been scientific discoveries of natural times of heat and ice ages. Did humans cause the Ice age? i think not. Any one know about the global cooling scare in the 70's. And what if it all is a matter of gravity; The moon puses earth closer to the sun, sun pulls earth closer and for cooler years earth takes a slingshot move around the sun and the moon pulls earth closer.

Why keep blaming cars? Ever look at all the flights done in a single day in those magazines on the airplane? Give me a break. And individuals recycle way more than offices. Yet no one holds offices accountable for all their garbage bags (half full) and recyclables not being recycled.

Note that the scientific language in the reports that global warming is real and threatens catastrophe was slightly watered down by politicians.

But still, doesn't this now place skeptics about global warming in the same category as people who say NASA filmed the moon landings in a studio?

"There was little doubt about the science, which was based on 29,000 sets of data, much of it collected in the last five years. "For the first time we are not just arm-waving with models," Martin Perry, who conducted the grueling negotiations, told reporters."

I want to know your opinions of using an energy tax to help stop global warming. What I mean is taxing gas and electricity, and to prevent taxes from increasing over all, get rid of the income tax.

Carbon dioxide is just carbon (building blocks of life) and two bits of oxygen (dioxide). So why can't we just remove the carbon so we have loads of building blocks of life if we ever need them, and loads more oxygen (don't know about the "di" bit though)? We know how to split atoms to make things (and whole cities) blow up, so why not split atoms to turn them into useful things?
