Evolutionary changes occur on the molecular, cellular, and ecological levels. Shifts in gene frequency within a population are as important in evolution as the mutations that gave rise to them. Populations adapt more surely to ecological changes than do individuals. What ecological pressures are facing the human population? How are we adapting? What effect are our adaptations having on the rest of life on the planet? What impact will the Industrial Revolution and the Technology Age have on the evolution of life on Earth? What adaptations still need to be made to optimize the ecology?

The EPA only regulates greenhouse gases if they're required to by law. There are a lot of great nonprofit organizations that try to get people to cut CO2 emissions, but they don't have the power to make laws about it. Could the government start an agency that is actually determined to stop global warming, and isn't run by politicians that would suffer if we reduced our use of petroleum?

Scientists say that the poorest will be hit hardest - even in rich countries/regions. Everyone scrambles to get ready for something that can be avoided with proper measures, but in the scrambling to get ready because of fear, overuses, overstocks, over pillages the earth for preparation materials and cash?

I recognize the killing of animals under ONE circumstance only, to prevent starvation or nakedness to the elements for humans. I do not see that circumstance here. They are beautiful creatures and we SHOULD support their continuance of beauty among us by befriending them, not destroying them.

I am doing a research project on the debate over Global Warming. I will present both sides of the argument and determine where I stand. There are so many sides to this issue and its becoming difficult to sift through all of this information , I just want a clear cut and supported answer. If you can help me out by answering, or by referring me to a credible website it would be very helpful. Thanks.

this sounds crazy, but i think that studies warning of the effects of global warming would be taken much more seriously if they were released as news on an april day when it wasn't snowing in dallas. shouldn't those in charge of this data realize the effect that one day of cold weather will have on the small minds who don't see the big picture?

- the surrounding land
- the atmosphere
- external waterways that affect the organic farm

With things like GM crops already in the wild and widespread monoculture, how does a small farm fight this off?

By the way, I'm asking for actual farming techniques, not legislative wishes. Hoping for legislation is a bit too pie-in-the-sky and doesn't help me today.

Last February, scientists at the Uppsala University, Sweden conducted a study on the effect of estrogen-like pollutants on male born frogs. Two species of frogs were exposed to such pollutants with less than 50% of them being females. The population that received the heaviest dose of estrogen became 95% female in one case and 100% in another. Pollutants used in the study are similar to the ones in the environment (in pesticides, industrial wastes, etc). Because of its effect on frogs, I wonder if it might be possible that these same pollutants can affect the male humans and might also lead to the extinction of the male species entirely.

If the proof is out there that this is so why arent we running cars on water or some other form of non polluting fuel? Surely there is the Knowledge out there to do this.
I know we are using certain types of lower polluting fuels but if this issue is so serious why cant we use non polluting fuels.
Or is this just scaremongering from our governments to earn extra revenue with "Higher" polluting cars being taxed more?
