Not only did their theories and methods get debunked, but it's a lot cooler today.

Al Gore is going to be so disapointed. He's going to loose his source of income.

Can you tell me one theory that has been debunked (don't waste too much time looking because the total is zero). I've spent 23 years looking into the theories that both prove and disprove global warming so I have a reasonable idea what I'm talking about.

Don't mention the Mars thing that someone else has mentioned. The Martian atmosphere bears no resemblence to ours, in fact, it's hardly got any atmosphere at all and what bit there is is nearly all carbon dioxide. There isn't enough data to determine for sure if Mars is warming, at best it's just three years and is based on limited evidence. Only the south polar ice cap is melting, the north polar ice cap is expanding. The ploar ice caps aren't made of ice they're primarily frozen carbon dioxide - that's how cold it is up there. This happens every year just like with our own ice caps - it's a seasonal variation. Any warming on Mars is likely due to dust storms that are so huge they cover the entire planet; if we had similar weather here it would also affect temperature.

Where you live might be cooler but you live in just one place. The world as a whole is warmer and where I am is the hottest day of the year so far - about 13 degrees C above the norm.
I realize that because it's 13 degrees above average here it doesn't mean it's the same across the entire planet.

What you're saying is that the weather today where you live reflects what's happening around the world. Does that mean if it rains where you are it will never stop raining and it will rain across the whole world?

I take it you haven't looked at the news today. Note that this language is after politicians edited the scientists to make their conclusions less strong.

"There was little doubt about the science, which was based on 29,000 sets of data, much of it collected in the last five years. "For the first time we are not just arm-waving with models," Martin Perry, who conducted the grueling negotiations, told reporters.

The United States, China and Saudi Arabia raised the many of the objections to the phrasing, often seeking to tone down the certainty of some of the more dire projections.

The final IPCC report is the clearest and most comprehensive scientific statement to date on the impact of global warming mainly caused by man-induced carbon dioxide pollution.

It said up to 30 percent of the Earth's species face an increased risk of vanishing if global temperatures rise 3.6 degrees Fahrenheit above the average in the 1980s and '90s.

Areas that now suffer a shortage of rain will become even more dry, adding to the risks of hunger and disease, it said. The world will face heightened threats of flooding, severe storms and the erosion of coastlines."

From an article I read recently, it looks like Mars is facing its own global warning.

How can the Republicans sit around and do nothing when there is clear evidence that the carbon dioxide "ice caps" near Mars's south pole had been diminishing for three summers in a row?!

Only the industries in the US who aren't retro-fitted to block the release of carbon dioxide into the air are relieved. The reason it's cooler today, of course, is the ice caps in the artics are melting into the oceans, thus cooling the ocean waters.

It certainly hasn't been debunked by a UN report out today endorsed by hundreds of scientists

Are you high!?!?!?!?!
The polar ice caps are still breaking off. And the population is not slowing down. Oh, yes, and have you forgot about the giant dust bowl that is Africa? Please do us a favor, stop thinking.
