if we can make railroads that go across america, why cant we just make a tube that goes across america and get rid of the extra water the east gets and give it to the west. we make oil pipelines that are over 1,000 miles. what are your thoughts?

Such a network already exists across much of Europe and I wouldn't be surprised if there was something similar in the US - I don't know because I'm not in the US.

One of the problems is moving the quantities of water needed. the European network is primarily to top up supplies in one area when they run low, it's not designed to be the main supply.

Also, a lot of media reports about global warming are alarmist and focus on the more dramatic aspects. Often 'worst case scenarios' are presented as if there's no avoiding them. It's highly likely there will be shifts in weather and climate patterns but the west isn't going to dry up overnight. Changes that happen will be moderate and long term.

It's not just one pipeline. First you have to collect the water from a very large surface area. Then the amount of energy to pump the water over the mountains would cost too much to yield any benefits, i.e. it will just generate more greenhouse gas. Might probably take all the electricity in the USA to do that.
