I live in a big city with lots of air pollution. I love to run outdoors, but often times the pollution makes my throat and lungs hurt. It has been raining today, so will the rain clean the air out so I can run afterwards?

Is air pollution in the air reduced after it rains? If so, anybody know how long it takes for the pollution to build back up again?

I would like to have facts only and not opinions. I'm told by either side of the issue adn most of it seems to be a bunch of BS. So, I thought that I'd post the question here.

Considering their alternative power comes from electricity, and electricity is produced by burning coal or produced by nuclear plants. Burnig coal and nuclear waste are hardly envirnmentally friendly. So are these hybrid cars really all that much better than regular cars just burning petrol??

As I understand it theres this thing called hot spot? or earth heating? oh Global Warming thats it. But What should we do with all that ugly nasty trash??? And how am I going to pay for my electricity bill it's so high. Oh and what will I drive when gas reaches $10.00 a gallon because the wells in the middle east are under "terrorist" control. I can't afford all of this environmental stuff. Why can't I just recycle a Can without being called an activist. All I want is to have a clean town and cheap electricity and to drive my car with out taking a mortgage out on my house to fill the tank.
Any suggestions?

Photovoltaic arrays convert sunlight to electricity with a typical conversion efficiency (range) of 10% to 30%.

A tree receives sunlight, and stores some of this solar energy as a hydrocarbon (wood). What intensity of sunlight is needed, over what area of leaf canopy, for how many hundreds of hours, for a tree to add 1 pound (dry weight) of wood to its mass? Or to add 1 cubic foot to its trunk+branch volume?

The answer may be specific to any tree species -- alder, hemlock, etc -- that grows in a temperate rainforest (i.e. Maritime Northwest U.S.).

I have changed almost all my bulbs, except for the ones my wife uses to sew and put makeup on and paint with. The cost of true color bulbs is out of sight.

If you do a little research, you'll find enough information to see that global warming is a questionable theory, not a FACT of impending doom! The evidence points to the sun as being a more probable culprit to the NORMAL temperature fluctuations....

Are people so desperate to feel good about themselves that they think replacing a light bulb will save us all?

People like Al Gore are simply playing on your emotions to take money out of your pockets! His movie has made more money for Paramount than any other movie! Plan on more global warming propaganda movies....

What happenened to the doomsayers in the 50's and 60's claiming that an Ice Age was coming? Only 40-50 years later, we're going to die because it's too hot?!?!?!

I'm all for conservation, but it needs to be done with FACTS!

Please people. Get a grip on reality and wake up from the brainwashing....
