Setting of small scale industries must be encouraged. Stringent punishment for polluting industries should be implemented. Hazardous industries which were denied entry in advanced countries should not be allowed to be set up in India. Polluting vehicles more than 8 years should be destroyed. We see that greenery is grown everywhere. Social Forestry must be encouraged. Various rivers which are polluted beyond control should by cleaned. The steps should be taken to avert pollutants to enter into the rivers. Pollution control measures should be implemented strictly.

Education is the solution. Every school needs to teach nature and ecology to the very young. Young children begin their thinking of conserving fuel and energy, learn to pick up trash and assist clean up efforts from school.

Change in a country begins with the children and their education. Teachers should have students write reports on this exact question.

Children can interview their parents and grandparents with the question, "What is our family doing to create a cleaner, less polluted India?" When parents of the very young are confronted with such a question, it begins to change the behavior of the parents also. Real change begins with the children.
