In one year the earth does a complete circle around the sun. Because of the tilt of the earth's axis, at one point the southern hemisphere is closest to the sun and the northern axis is farther, six months apart is just the opposite. When one of the hemispheres is farther away they will experience winter. Summer is when that half of the axis is closest to the sun. Fall and Spring are just transition phases into winter and summer!

There is a purpose to that, because if we didn't have season's how would we be able to deal with our own seasons in our lives. If we didn't have seasons, we would not be able to grow and appreciate the beauty of every season. We need seasons for many reasons. The same way we have our seasons to help us mature to grow spiritually...Season is good!
