I have decided to live a cleaner, greener life. With all the strange natural phenomenons that have been occurirng (hurricanes, melting ice caps) I feel like I need to do more. I recycle, use energy-saving light bulbs, but there is so much more I can do. I'm thinking of taking the bus to work instead of driving my Jeep. Unfortunately the bus stop is 1 mile from my office. Am I crazy to want to do this or just really ambitious about saving the environment? Think of something you could do to live a greener life that requires some type of sacrifice - would you do it? Tell me what you think.

In my state, Weyerhauser (a company) harvests and buys pine trees... meaning tens of thousands of acres are cleared and planted in pine trees which have a quick maturation (appx. 30 years). Is the destruction of hardwoods to do this detrimental to the overall production of oxygen? Someone told me hardwoods produce over 300 times the amount of oxygen.
