I was in the city the other day at a bus stop. There were at least 6 bins with a 5 metre distance between each one. Yet there was still litter everywhere, and the bins were pretty much empty. Why do people do this? It's not like it would have taken much to just drop the litter in one of those bins!

I mean assuming there is no massive war, that could do it any time. Only if we keep trashing the planet how long will earth be livable at the current rate? Dinosuars exisited longer than us by far, I assume if we go the rest of the planet will be in pretty bad shape and it looks like we are on the way now. I cannot see how it could be reversed.

I'm very concerned about the impact we (humans) have had on the earth and its other inhabitants. Over the years I've noticed more and more extremes of weather both hot and cold. In addition there has been an increase in environmental catastrophes and I wonder how many people still disregard warnings about climate change and dismiss them as mere speculation. Yet the evidence is strewn in their midst like a headbasket before a guillotine. Feel free to think freely and render a response to this thought-provoking pondering.

I have to write a persuasive essay. What are some controversial issues relating to animals. For instance, the wolves. Some people want to keep them and others want them out. What are issues are there? The issue needs to have two sides. One supporting. One against.

I've listened to both sides of the argument, and here are the conclusions I've drawn from the evidence... Please let me know what you think about it:

1. It is definitely time to concede the argument that warming IS happening. The evidence is just too overwhelming.

2. I don't think it has been definitively proven that human activity is the primary cause of recent warming. I believe we simply haven't been keeping climate records long enough, and/or we don't have a sophisticated enough understanding of global climate systems to draw that conclusion with any certainty. More study is needed.

3. There have been other periods of history in which we had rapid and even MORE extensive warming than we're having today, and I haven't seen any studies that show a correlation between those events and any significant extinctions or species declines.

4. We are coming out of the most recent ice-age, so is it not possible that the warming trend is an entirely natural phenomenon that...

One of the arguments for the use of genetically modified foods is that gm foods can be enriched and fed to people in developing nations for extra nutrition. Arguments against gm are that because gm foods are copywrited, they cost more. Seed companies can copywrite all the different varieties of a plant, say wheat, and then have the monopoly with their gm variety, which can shut out small farmers.

What do you think? Do you think the benefits of feeding impovrished nations (some of which won't take gm food donations) are worth losing small farming (which can reduce variety but essentially improve taste quality for consumers through breeding research)?

Is genetically modified food ethical according to these terms? Forget if you disagree with it because it's "unnatural", and instead, try to focus on the terms presented here. I want more than a one word answer, please!

Thanks!
