Heating oil is a mixture of hydrocarbons with chains of length 14 to 20 carbon atoms. A back of the envelop calculation gives me that 1 metric ton produces a staggering 1700 m3 of CO2.

Details of the calculation:
heating oil's is a mixture of C14H30, C15H32, C16H34, C17H36, C18H38, C19H40, or C20H42.
Take the middle value as the average. The molar mass of C17H36 is 17*12+36=240 gram. 1 mol of C17H36 will produce 17 mol of CO2. Therefore 17*24 =408 liter gas is produced by 240 gram of C17H36.
Or 1700 m3 for 1 metric ton.
