2. That's one kind of hot. Here's another. 1998 set a record for the highest average global temperature. British meteorologists think that 2007 is likely to match, or beat, that record. Greenhouse gases contribute to global warming, and in Canada they're still on the rise. By 2004 greenhouse gas emissions had increased by 159 million metric tonnes over what they were in 1990. About one quarter of that increase came from road transportation. So what do you know about greenhouse gases and transportation? Let's find out!

What contributed the most to the increase in greenhouse gases from transportation?

a) longer commutes
b) cars & station wagons
c) heavy trucks
d) vans, SUVs & pickup trucks

Other conservation groups will protest whaling and thats about it. This group will actually go out onto the waters and defend whales with a ship against japanese whalers. Is this insane or is the next logical step in conservation? What are your thoughts?www.seashepherd.org

Okay, I was in NY for X-mas, and the temp didn't go below 50 degress! This is unheard of. Should our leaders be doing more to change our ways to protect the planet? This is the strangest year when it comes to the weather. NY where my family is usually has alot of snow this time of year.

I live in Wisconsin, usually in December our temps are in the 1 digits if not lower. This December however we have been having 50 degree weather. Does this call for a really hot summer also? I know that other states in the northeast are experiencing some of the same conditions.
