I live in Wisconsin, usually in December our temps are in the 1 digits if not lower. This December however we have been having 50 degree weather. Does this call for a really hot summer also? I know that other states in the northeast are experiencing some of the same conditions.

Nope

Weather is one of the most chaotic systems known. Weather models in the most sophisticated supercomputers are not yet very accurate. A volcano erupting in Indonesia or dust storm of the Gobi can thow the whole model into the garbage.

good question, i think it all amounts to global warming. We too have been having a warmer than usual winter with highs in the 90's when we usually are seeing highs in the 50's. I really hope it doesn't call for a hotter summer, I don't know if it can GET any hotter where I live, we already see 120degree weather in the summers!

There's usually no connection between weather patterns that far apart in time.
