In an article published in December, Canadian and US researchers predicted that by 2040 Arctic Ocean ice will nearly disappear in the summer off the north coast of Greenland and Canada, opening a maritime corridor that would reduce shipping time between Europe and Asia. ........ this was a statement made after a large peice of ice broke from an arctic circleshelf.......always thinking capitolistically. How can people who think of the"FINANCIAL BOTTOMLINE" be trusted to look out for humanity?!

OMG I am so scared. I am 12 and am at the age of where I realize all the bad things that are going on. And I am kind of furiated with myself with the fact of things going in one year and out the other. But sadly most of the things that are going through to the other side [of the ear] are the good things in this world. I am just looking at the bad, like global warming. It is scaring the crud out of me, almost more than anything else. And I am scared because at my age, I understand what is going on but adults aren't paying any attention to me, what should I do. I want to help out really badly with the whole global warming thing. I am so scared and would like for every person to do their part. Maybe it just wasn't a good idea for me to watch that AL GORE MOVIE[HE ROCKS] (GO AL) that is when I first started to fear for Global Warming. Hey but I did just think of one good thing, a large portion of America is doing their part to make sure to take care of global warming the amishe.

I live in the north part of the country and it's already in the middle of the winter, but we still don't have snow. The temperatures are in the high fourties...and it seems very abnormal compared to my past winters hear when we had many snowstorms. Now today all it seems like warmer climate. Is this just weather or is it ACTUALLY GLOBAL WARMING? Also I'm into snowboarding...but do you think "global warming" or whatever is happening will effect this sport...What will happen and where can I snowboard if it is happening? Is it too late for everything? How else it going to effect our ways of life? Will it hurt the internet? Help!

Sure enough, we already have technology to produce ozone (usually employed in water purifying). The Ozone Layer can repair itself very, very slowly - can man accelerate the process?

Can it be as simple as producing and releasing ozone at the altitude of the Ozone Layer?

1. hydrogen= takes more energy to make it than it provides
2. biodiesel and ethanol= only maybe practicle with a limited use to vehicles fuel not praticle for a source of energy for the worlds needs due to the amount of land it takes to produce, we are already running out of farm land
3. solar power: considering the amount of energy the world needs by the time fossil fuel runs out the planet would have to be covered with solar panels and they are expensive, third world countries could not afford
4. wind power: same as with number 3
5. nuclear: produces highly toxic waste, power plants threaten sourounding areas
6. fission: practicle if proven to work still in progress, iter project

Global warming is a major problem and yet many people ignore it! The government especially is blowing off global warming and if we don't do something now then our children and grandchildren will live in a terrible world. Imagine a world without greenland, or polar icecaps, or polar bears... its disgusting....

Even if we can do nothing about global warming, isn't it still important to save energy, recycle, not pollute? I get the impression that people see this as an excuse to be lazy about environmental matters. What will happen if we just let go?

Hey, we've got this humongeous population explosion, right? Well, they all are giving off body heat --- way more than the trivial population of times past. We run, exercise, there are fights & wars : good grief, we're heating things up, especially when you ad in all the extra strenuous exercise from the new wave of extreme sports enthusiasts! Then, to top it all off, these millions upon millions of people are having a terrible time sticking to a proper, low-emissions diet. Yeah, that's right, millions more people all passing gas : that shoots the methane levels through the roof, right?! -- And that's a greenhouse g-a-s! So, tell me, doc, are we all going to gas ourselves to extinction? I hope not : we should all eat more responsibly : less beans and more greens, huh?! Pity us, since even cutting back may not make up for the body temperature of so many more human beings on this planet. -- Still, I think that guy from Spain had a good thought about the forest fires everywhere
