I am a teacher. AFter a mistake of my coworker's, a parent got very upset with me. I smoothed over the situation with the parent, but when I tried to speak with the coworker about the mistake, the coworker yelled at me and denied all responsibility. I have 2 witnesses to this. Tomorrow, we need to meet with the boss to discuss the situation. I want to speak up firmly, but not be overly aggressive. How should I approach this? Should I speak first, and how much do I say? I want him to look really bad!

I am taking online courses at the local community college. That is about all that my job permits. My teacher has not responded to any of anybody's emails, takes weeks to grade what assignments he does post, and is impossible to get a hold of. I have e-mailed him, posted questions in our discussion boards, called his office, and even his home. Nothing. He set an appointment for one monday to discuss with us what was going on for the rest of the semester. I was unable to attend, I work; I'm taking online courses for a reason. Anyway, I tried to get a hold of him to find out what I need to do. No answer. So a posted a topic on our board. I just found out yesterday (december 4th) that I have a total of six papers (including one I was already working on) due by the 11th. That gives me six days to do six papers. These papers we have to do were spread out through the semester on his syllabus, but he told us not to do them earlier. Now he just throws them at us all at once. What should I do?!

I want a new career outside of teaching when I move from Milwaukee to Chicago. I am unfamiliar with available job/career resources in the Chicagoland area. I honestly do not know what my options are when it comes to finding a new path in my life in terms of a job. I want to be surrounded by fun, creative and CRAZY people every day! I want to love my job again!
I love books, music, the outdoors and coffee. I am a people person and have a creative streak a mile long.

my english teacher, for some weird reason, has taken a grudge against me and i have NO IDEA why......

anyway, today in class she said to the girl that sits next to me 'are you ok' and then OUT OF NOWHERE she started shouting at me

i had NO idea what she was talking about, and im not going to be accused of doing something when i havnt, so i said 'why?' and then she had a complete physcho at me and told me to go and sit on my own on a desk at the back!??!

afterwards i asked the girl if she knew what made the teacher so angry and she said she wasnt upset or anything and she didnt know why the teacher kept asking her that

tomorow im going to go to her office and ask her why she moved me and really embarassed me infront of the whole class, all my friends say i should and i really want to know but how can i do it without sounding arrogant because i want her to believe me that i never did anything wrong!!

ALSO, DO ANY OF YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHY SHE MOVED ME?!?!?!??
thanks guys x

I'm a 4th and 5th grade math teacher and I need some help and advice. Three of my classes are great but one of them (4th grade) is, let's just say, not so great. They don't listen, they hate working and they've made quite a reputation for themselves. On my first day, all the teachers warned me about them and when I went to the class, the girls said to me themselves that they are really bad and that no one likes them. They called themselves dumb and bad.

I need to improve their behavior and get their attention. Any ideas please? I feel like Michelle Pfieffer in Dangerous Minds except I'm a math teacher, not an English teacher so I can't use the sentence "I want to die".

Please, please, please help!

Thanks

Strict, or fun? Ive had a good combo of both throughout school but i responded more to the more easy going teacher who actually treated me as a person, not some kid he had to teach. Does it depend on the student is one method more effective than another?
Thanks
