A certificate for one day of no homework. This will cost you nothing and they will love it.

As a middle school teacher with 100 students (and I have a low class load--125-150 is more average), that would be $100 if I spent $1 on each. Because I teach other cultures, they all got a miniature candy cane this week for St. Nicholas Day--and that's all! I really like my kids, but I don't have unlimited funds.

Assemble in a gift bag, gift mug or small zipper food storage bag:

1 individual pack hot chocolate mix
3 Hershey's chocolate kisses
10-15 mini-marshmallows
small candy cane

I think something small and personalized is a great idea. It could be a simple home made project or something more elaborate depending on the time available. I still have some gifts that teachers made with either my name or photo. Those are the ones they will cherish.

You could give them a little bag of candy with a holiday or seasonal type of pencil. Then you could go to a cheap store for examplt the dollar store and buy a small, pack of toys or little notepads or something else that you like and put it in their candy bag.

teach the kids that Christmas is a scam and that they shouldn't waste their time and efforts on gifts because they will just develop the stress and january debt load cycle that their parents have. If they can understand and raise their guard against ridiculous Christmas consumerism at a young age, you will have given those children a priceless gift that they will cherish for the rest of their days.

I agree with the first two answers. My kids teachers have always gotten them little treat bags. They love them! A lot of the christmas candy is on sale now, get a couple of bags. Those plastic goody bags are pretty cheap to. It doesn't have to be a lot. The kids will be happy with anything. Mine always are.

Cute little bags with snowy or christmas pictures painted on them. Fill them with candy including chocolate. A pencil not yellow, something pretty and christmas looking.
