Try to talk to your parents, and have them talk to your school into moving you to your right grade. As for falling behind, I know it's hard for you but life is full of changes so you can either grow from it or not. Try giving the school a chance, improve your grades and etc.

Schools place you based on your achievement and you admit you are behind. You may be able to attend summer school and catch up, which is usually the way Public Schools will consider moving you to the next grade. The excuse you are not "into" a curriculum will not suffice, Their curriculum is the curriculum they grade and place people from.

Ask to be tested to prove you should be in the higher grade. I'm not sure, but I think it's required to test you to find out where to place you. Get a tutor to prepare for the test so there is less chance of not passing. Best wishes.

you need to apply yourself, if tis work is reaaly easy for you,you should make straight A's on your report card, then take that and give to your guidance counselor and tell her you need to be moved up. We do it all the time at the school that I teach at.
