Teaching - December 2006

I am a sixth grade teacher and with all of the pressures of testing I don't have a lot of time to change my bulletin boards and decorations in the hall way. Does anyone have any ideas for a bulletin board that could stay up throughout the winter season? I also need something that is appropriate for my upper elementary grades. Thank you!

How do i control more than 20 preschoolers, 1st and 2nd graders all together in one room? I teach at a weekend school and even though i love teaching i have the worst time controlling and acting as a authority!

How would you start a oral commentary? How do you manage not to get all nervous and freak out? Lastly how do most people end their commentaries? By restating the thesis or...what?
I appreciate all the help since I'm doing mine the week after next week.

I will be meeting my kids teachers next week, what could I ask the teacher. I always get nervous when I have to meet them, but I want to be prepared with some questions, they are both doing good in school, no serious problems. I have one in grade 1, and another in gr,4. What do teachers want to hear from parents.
