I've noticed some teachers on Yahoo Answers ask questions that I thought would be covered in every Teacher Training program! thought it would be interesting to see what different K-12 teachers did as part of the Teacher Training program. This would also help people thinking of becoming a teacher make decisions about their education.

Iv`e been hearing a lot about them latley. It seems at some schools where they have studied this it is causing to bring down drop out rates, kids are learning better which is bringing up self esteem which is lowering teen suicide. They have proven that girls and boys learn better through different technices and and better in different subjects at different ages.(other countries have known this for some time)But yet we teach them all subjects in the same classroom at the same age. For instance take math. Boys brains are wired differently. They tend to pick up math at a younger age through text work. Girls a few years later through more of a visual way of teaching. This is why girls test scores are usually lower in math and tend to struggle with it more. This is the same for each subject. It also takes the gender compatition away so they are more focused on learning. Mixed time is scheduled through extra activities. It might actually bring back a little shyness between the sexes.

Some people feel that sex education should be teach in school, whereas, the others believe it is unnecessary..
Everyone can give their opinion about this topic...
But, it needs the evidence to prove it..

I mean. If a teachers teaching style alone isnt enough to get a student to pass, then do you think the risk of potential failure will motivate the student to pass? I'm doing a research paper on this and I would be honored if you would give me your opiniion on this. Thank you!

Do some of you subsitutes or past substitutes every feel that what you did that day or week was just wrong. Or it seemed like other people or staff were getting on to you?
Is this normal? When being a substitute, everyone around you has had more experience and sometimes you feel kinda low on the totem pole.
My goal is to become a full time math and science teacher.

My daughter is in 3rd grade. The first day of school she came home crying, that her teacher was mean. This went on for 3 days. I talked with the teacher....she is not human, she just sits and smiles and makes statments not related to my questions. I informed her that it was unacceptable for my child to cry about having to go to school. My daughter loved school and continued to excel until this class. The teachers behavior borders on harrassment. We met with the Principal, he said he would monitor the class. It is now the 3rd month of school and it is still going on. My daughter rarely cries about school now, she is just "tired of my teacher being mean!" Long story short- this teacher has had a rep of being a "mean" teacher for years!!! The principal will not let me pull her out of the class, or go to another school in the district. I can't take work off to monitor the class and I can't home school her. Any suggestions on how to get this teacher fired?
