I'm planning get my credential to become a jr.high teacher, but I'm still not sure whether I should or not. The requirements keep adding and changing, and it seems to me that many new teachers give up after 2 or 3 years teaching. The pay is not that good. The benefits I don't know. The work hours 8-3 is not bad, but you still have to spend 2-3 minimum grading papers and planning lesson and talking to parents and going to meetings. It can also be frustrating at times when you have a difficult group or difficult student, but it can be very rewarding when you feel the love of your students and when you feel they are learning. So, what's your opinion about teaching?

I need to improve my English listening and speaking skills.

I don't care how old you are: you could be more than 50 or 60 years old, only if you are eligible for the above qualifications.

I can teach you arabic if you want to .

I have been teaching the UG and Masters students. I am a Certified Specialised Microbiologist, Public Health and Medical Microbiology,NRM,USA and a Corporate Member of the Australian Inst of Medical Scientists, Australia. I have worked in Saudi Arabia as a Consultant Microbiologist in a Super speciality Hospital for 3 yrs. Based on my qualification ad experience I was granted Immigration to Australia in 1995.I have extensive teaching experience in all the branches of Microbiology. I have worked as the Head/Chairperson of the Dept of Microbiology fo many years. My students of the UG and Masters class are now working in top Insts in the USA like NIH, Harvard Med School. As this is a practical subject and knowing just theory is not enough, students and teachers must realize that performing the lab correctly is very impt. Only an experienced teacher who has exposure in Hospital environment can guide new student. Handling microbes is impt as they r a part of all developing sciences.

well this is a tough subject because there are people that feal drugs are the key and I for one am agenst the drug use,
but the qeustion is how to help parents teachers/schools help kids with special needs like reading writeing ect. cause there arent enouph people helping out. the teachers just throw us in the back of the class and say try to keep up if not then to bad. emagin one special eds teacher for 6 kids imposible one is in 7 and the rest are in higher grades. and the other question is why arent the schools doing any thing about it?
yes I am one of the less helped when I was in school I have ADHD and a couple of learning disabilitys. and I gues I just hate siting back while other kids that need help get treated like dirt and are forced to think of it as well there is always manual labor.
and I would like to hear others answers to these big problems. is drugs the key to study or is it finding that one thing that makes them happy and try to help them learn?

I'm thinking of becoming a teacher but I can't decide what grades to teach. At first I wanted to teach grades k-3 (mainly 1st, 2nd, and 3rd) but there aren't that many jobs available in these grades. So I was thinking of teaching grades 4-8. But still I don't know which one I should do. Have any suggestions???

I have a college degree (liberal arts) and am considering getting a TEFL certificate also, so I'd like to get some opinions on it from people who have one or teach EFL. I know that you can use it when working in other countries, but can it also help you to get jobs in the United States? Do you think it's a worthwhile certification to pursue and what kind of experiences have you had with it? Thanks for any ideas you can give me about it.
