I have an M.D., but never practiced medicine. I have been tutoring junior high- and high school kids in math, science, and some English for several years with various franchises and small companies, while following my wife here and there while she is pursuing higher medical education. Am I "behind in the game"? How do I increase my "stock"/chances? (I'm thinking of teaching anatomy and physiology to nursing and allied health students. I considered going back to school to get certified for teaching math and/or science on the secondary level, but I can't afford it.)

I taught a class today and there was a student who was very academic. She feels comfortable asking me for advice on how to deal with problems at school. When I give her advice she refuses to look at me when I speak but she thinks I give her good advice all the time and she appreciates it. She is not shy. She is outgoing.

I have a male high school teacher was teaching in Africa and wants to start teaching here in US. He is asking my advice. What does he have to do to acquire a teaching lincense in US? In which State would he get the license without taking any classes or just a few since he has a bachelors degree?

Put simply, I'm a recent graduate who failed to secure a teaching job at a high school teaching math. I interviewed with 5 schools and received no return phone calls. Next year I'm starting my Master's program and will be involved with that for 2 years. After I finish, I plan to either teach high school or college level mathematics. However, I wish to know some good techniques to use in an interview so that I may stand a better chance at getting the job.

Consider this, the age difference between you and the student is almost non-existent, and the student seems to have enough respect not to interfere with the current teacher-student relationship.

I always help the teacher and she really likes me. Everyone in class calls me good girl. Whenever I act really bad she gets all depressed. But when i help her she gets really happy in class and everything. What should I do? I always get good grades because I help her. Everyone else in my class are really bad. Am I a teacher's pet? If i am should I continue to be a teachers pet or should I act bad and stuff?

I am really close to one of my teachers and sometimes it amazes me how close we are to each other. Like I was talking to her today and she finished my sentence for me like she knew and this isn't the first time that I have felt really close to her. Lets just say that I do more for her then my fellow students(not perverted!!) like I help her out with stuff during class. I was just wondering what are the chances that she feels close to me at times too and have you ever felt really close to a student as a teacher or as a teacher to a student? Thanks
