I was thinking about buying this book online to save some money. I did a search online, and saw that there was two different 4th. ed. by Mark Dugopolski. One was published in 2005. The other was published in 2006. I don't want to get to class and have the wrong book. Thanks in advance for your help.

I was in a 2 year RN program and every year they loose over half their students either through failure or students just quit like me(mostly it's for this reason). The program is intense but something must be wrong with it if so many people quits. Plus, alot of students complain about unhappy they are with it. Is this normal?

Why are RE teachers bnot forced to cover things like stoning and inquisitions and honour killings?

Ie not allowed to simply give a roasey tinted education that lies about the nature and history of these relgions ...

I have a BS in Elem Ed and Early Childhood with my Master's in Adaptive Special Ed. I worked 4 years as a K-1 Sped teacher and 1 yr as a Early Childhood Sped teacher. I'm wanting to get out of teaching, but I'm not sure what my options are as to what I can do with my degree and still work in education. Any suggestions?

I am a 5th Grade teacher and I was wondering if I should allow my kids to watch Napolean Dynamite or not. Some kids said it was inappropriate, but I think that those kids just didn't want to watch it. Please be VERY specific and tell me exactly what is so innapropriate about it.

At my highschool, our GPAs are out of 5.0.

I'm in all regular classes this term.
My current cummulative GPA going into the fourth term of school is a 4.03.
Third term ended today and i know i got: A,B,A,A in my regular classes. (giving me a possibility of a 4.75 gpa for the term)

My question is...how much would this 4.75 raise my cummulative GPA of 4.03?

Did you attend sixth grade in a middle school or an elementary school? I myself attended sixth grade at an intermediate school (grades 4-6). I liked it because I only had two teachers, one for math, science, and social studies and one for language arts. It felt more like an elementary school. I just don't think it's necessary to send sixth graders to middle school.

Lately it seems that more and more school districts are moving sixth graders out of their neighborhood elementary schools and into larger middle schools. The main reasoning I've heard about this push is that middle schools are more "developmentally appropriate" for students. I did a research paper for a class a while back on the benefits of K-8 schools, and several school districts that have switched to K-8 schools have found that when students are kept in their elementary schools longer, there is higher academic achievement, fewer behavior problems, and higher self- esteem among those students. This completely contradicts the idea of a middle school. I say, as long as an elementary school can provide the same opportunities that most middle schools afford children, it is more "developmentally appropriate" for them to remain in elementary schools (at least through the sixth grade). Does anyone else have an opinion on the 6-8 middle school?
