of the school cirriculum ?? My daughter attends college and she says there are around 28 Poles in her class who are struggling with communication .It is an entry to further education course . I mean we have been flooded with Polish folks lately , i am NOT complaining !! Just saying watch this space for learning Polish in school ... what do you think ?

Well, for one of my edu classes, we are creating storyboards in powerpoint that include standards and benchmarks. I decided to do 4th grade with a story tieing in prepositions. Have any good ideas for a story? I think I am going to do something like "Into the world of tootsie and go thru her day of school, homework, pets, ect. But, I want to make it creative and interesting for 4th graders interest. Please help!!!!

I'd really appreciate advice from teachers here.

My husband is a new substitute teacher. Kids love him! He has had no problems (if anything, he's had great success!) with any of the classes he's taught up until now.

But he recently took a long term substitute position for a class that hasn't had a full time teacher all year (long story there). Most of the class is okay except for this one boy.

This kid refuses to take tests or do any classwork. He will just sit there and stare into space. He cries and throws huge fits (he's 7) when asked to do work. He never does his homework, and has fallen way behind the rest of the class. He simply wont take any instruction from his teacher no matter how many principal visits he recieves or calls his mother gets.

His mother says he's fine at home, and doesn't know what to do. She says she takes away privileges when the teacher calls her with these reports, but the kid is still not showing up with homework......My husband is going nuts.

and I hate the school he will be attending. The school is two blocks from my home and the school district says he must attend that school. Everyday the kids walk home and curse at each other and fight. I want what is best for my son and would like to know if anyone knows any loop holes in the system so so I can change school districts. ps I don't work

I am seeking the contact information for a business called 'Tropical School Photographics' who took a lot of class photos for schools in the Mackay (QLD, Australia) region during the early 1990s.

Granted, this business may longer exist but I was hoping someone out there may know more than I do of their whereabouts and/or history.

I am new teacher and I have been having classroom managment problems. This has caused problems with students not learning the material. I am afraid that I will be fired halfway through the semester. Is this possible? I show up everyday, I have lesson plans and do very well in every facet except this one. Need some help in this area? any suggestions. I would appreciate any help!!!
