yes, this is acceptable. usually, only when you intend to listen intently to the rely and maybe continue discussion.

I would think whoever you said it to would understand, but it would probably be better to say "how is school going for you?" or "how are you doing in school?"

ITS ok but i would not say this in this manner as its not grammatically correct...but since this is the norm its better then watsup?
