I've been studying Vietnam for many years, and found the best place for immediate information is through Wikipedia (http://wikipedia.com). The information there is pretty good and fair in detail. More specific information can be found through the text and Web references found in each section.
If you have the time and money, the absolute best resource on Vietnam is to Visit Vietnam. The country, and especially the North, is full of history.

etc. Vietnam War
Use the weather channel virtual reality map [6day extended forecast and go anywhere in the world] and other maps etc ON LINE NOW.
