In english we have to write a persuasive speech and I can't think of a good topic. I don't want any of the typical topics like school uniforms, or sadaams hanging and things. I want an intelligent topic that I can work with. My inital idea was "why there's a Paris Hilton in every little girl" but I donno if I could run with it. I wanted to talk about how so many little girls dress like skanks. But I donno! Plz help me!

ps. Im in grade 11, so no crazy UNI topics that I have no idea about.

This girl at my school wants to take a class with me at a different school. (just to get out of her last two periods at the end of the day, and so that her mom won't make her take it in the morning.)
She is rude to me, spreads rumors about me and, uses words i don't apprieciate--and she is LOUD!
how do i tell her that i don't want her to take this class with me. I want to be nice but i don't want her to come with me!
HELP!

My 8 year old daughter is very intelligent, well-behaved, and in the top of her class. She really doesn't like school, though. I think that most kids have trouble relating with her, because she is advanced. This really troubles her. Also, she is very tender-hearted, so it hurts her feelings when she doesn't feel understood.

Should I home school, or does she need that social interaction?

This and last yearI didn't do that well due to depression, and addiction to the computer. But in the past month so many positive changes are occuring in my life and I feel the want to suceed in school, and I've been thinking about my future and really want to go to a good normal college. My GPA is at 2.9ish i play the trumpet, and am pretty fluent in Spanish(4 years of it), I don't really play any
sports, and I am an only child. If I work really hard these next 2 and half years can I improve my chances of getting into a good school?

I need a list of the ten or so most popular math textbooks for each grade. I've tried searching amazon, but it's hard to find the books that are actually used by schools.

My issue is that I have a degree from an accredited university. I am extremely accomplished in this field, and it is also the field in which I teach (art). However, it is not a high need teaching area, and I am required to jump through several very expensive hoops to complete my certification (I am only provisionally certified currently). These hoops essentially require me to get another bachelor's degree in a field in which I already hold a bachelor's degree. Since I am already working on my master's degree in this field, I am not excited about forking over money for something I already have. My state does not offer an alternative route for the subject I teach (art).

I was wondering what states have the simplest certification routes. I have passed Praxis I and Praxis subject tests for art. I have completed a degree program in my subject area, but I HAVE NOT completed a bachelor's program for teaching.

I need quick certifications so I can get a better job.

A bunch of former classmates and I would like to have a school reunion in June 2008 for our headmaster's retirement. Our school is an international school and therefore some of our former students would probably have to fly in from all corners of the world. It is a fairly small school and I think in total it has had about 3000 graduates over its entire history. I am trying to figure out what the steps would be to plan this event from the internet but the info is mostly geared to the US and not applicable to Switzerland.

We do not have professional reunion planners in Geneva, so it will probably be up to us alumni to organize the event. 130 people have already shown interest in attending within the last week.

Most of the organizers are in their early twenties, but we want to get all of this right! Do you have any suggestions for us? The plan so far is to have it over a long weekend in the end of June 2008.

Thanks!

They ask for a $45 fee to join, but it seems reasonable since most clubs require that a membership payment to be due. Is this society legitimate or just a scam? Thanks!

Hi......I'm a teaching assistant and I've just been asked to work with a child with a visual impairment. I have no experience of this (most of my experience has been with speech/language impaired children) or those with behaviour problems. Does anyone know of anywhere on the web where I can find more information on how to support visually impaired children in the classroom.

Thanks
