without meaning to be horrible, it sounds to me like you are a little intimidated by this girl, and afraid of her reaction when you tell her what you are thinking. Don't avoid the issue. The only way to get what you want is to tell her, but you do have the advantage. 1) She is already mean to you, so what difference will it make if you upset her, 2) You can choose the time that you tell her, so either choose a place where you are alone so that if she is loud, the only person to hear will be you, or choose a time when she is alone and you have a friend for support. She may not feel as intimidating then. Also, just don't give her any more information about it, and change the subject if she begins to talk about it. Have some 'ready prepared' responses in your head so that she won't be able to catch her off guard and you'll be ready for her. Keep this in your mind- SHE IS NOT YOUR FRIEND, SHE DOESN'T MIND UPSETTING YOU SO WHY SHOULD YOU MIND UPSETTING HER? Good Luck!

Caution, only a MAN can use this method.

Tell her like it is. Tell her you don't want to take this class with her because she's a jerk. It sounds mean but if we were always nice to everyone we'd never get anywhere in this world. That's just the way it is.

Why be nice when you can be direct. Just take the classes that you want to take and don't share the information with her. Tell her that your education take priority over your social life and you don't want to be sidetracked by her.

Tell her that she is rude, too talkative, too gossipy and you really rather not have her around you. You would like to take the class by yoursekf, no offense, but that's the way it is.

Really you can't tell her that. You can just take the class and not give a hoot about what she does and says though.

Simple: You don't like her, so just say,"Sorry, but I can't. AND even if can't, I wouldn't want to." Simple.
