yesterday while my 11 year old son was in geogrphy with his elbow holding his head up the teacher came along and knocked his hand down, my son then asked him why but got no answer and then the teacher got quite annoyed with the whole class and then went back to my son with his fist about two inches from his face saying "go on put your nose on it"... this went on for a couple of minutes and his mates who saw all this says it was a threat!!....what do i do?...ive telephoned the school about this and they are telling me they will look in to it...im not saying my son is a angel cause hes far from that but surely teachers are not allowed to do this!!!....if the boot was on the othere foot and it was my son who threatened the teacher they would be excuding him!!....also the day before this happened the same teacher took my son and another boy who they were play fighting with to the headmaster and told the head master that my son kicked the othere boy in the head which he didnt....help??

Two contestants on The Weakest Link thought that cwt was cue weight and half a gross was 6 !! Since America use imperial above metric, are our schools failing kids by just teaching them metric?

He won't do the assignments that the teacher is assigning. He get's up and walks around while he should be doing his work. I personally think that he's bored. Even the teacher says that he's quite smart. When he does his work, it's 100% correct.

My son is 7 years old in the first grade and most children this age are full of energy and he is usually a well behaved child. His teacher is trying to quit smoking also - but I don't think pinching him was appropriate. Aren't there laws against this type of behavior?

I was blown away by the number of books written about this book! And by how much I disagree with the "experts".

What do you think of the character? Do you think the death of his brother was more important to his problems than the brief mention of it would suggest?

And why would someone who grew up in NYC have to keep reading the subway map?

BTW, the "experts" apparently didn't realize that Holden's rich father (he was a corporate lawyer) would have him a private California sanitarium (like a spa), not mental hospital. They must not have watched any "B" movies from the 50's.

Great book, for being so short, there's an incredible about of discussion material in it. How did Salinger do it?

I was referred to behavior school but i chose not to do the behavior school thing and if my mom cant get me back into that school, im going to do this online homeschooling thing instead and now im just sitting around home thinking what i can do better at school.. but my punishment has began the first day I was absent from school due to the principle telling me i was suspended, right? If I decide to take AP Chemistry next year, I have a choice of taking AP Biology online because I already taking Honors Chemistry and I have an A. Is taking AP Biology hard if I take it in the internet? Is it even harder if I take it while I take AP Chemistry for 90 minutes in school everyday?
