I have a 1st grade student who has a brain tumor and the prognosis is not good. I work in the school library and have had questions asking us what books to recommend on the subject that would help that child and the other children understand. Every day I pray for a miracle for her, but we need to be prepared to deal with what the future may bring. I will be checking with an agency that does grief counseling, but does anybody have recommendations from personal experience? We already have the books "The Next Place" which is beautiful, and also "What is Heaven?" by Maria Shriver. And if you would like to pray for her, the little girl's name is Maria. Thank you.

Hiya people, im soon to do my final gcse's, (in may) and now is the time for me to start revising, but i really have no motivation, my school hired some people to teach me and other pupils how to revise effectively and use both sides of our brains and stuff, so actually revising isn't the problem, i just cant get into it, its like i see the books and just dont want to sit down and read them...but i am getting worried because i know if i dont start doing revision now, i wont reach my full potential...help me please, how can i get motivated? the clock is ticking for me...

How times change! Was all the rage in the 70s, with Beano characters being whacked on a weekly basis. My husband got it at school and my mum kept a flip flop just for smacking (yes, social services have been informed!). Has slippering died a death or just gone underground like dog fighting?

Im 14 and im terrible at anything to do with sports. Mainly the competitive stuff. But i have to do PE at school and i do try but people dont seem to appreciate. Im not a very confident person at all and get crap from people around school every day and its quite a small school too.
Is there anything i can do to make these people realise that i am trying and to not be so nasty about it?

Okay so this year I am a freshman. I didn't want to go to the public high school here so I went to a private Christian school thinking it would be better. I was wrong. I have barely any friends there but they're not the kind of people I would like to be friends with. The school I would be changing to is the public high school. All of my friends go there but the school is "ghetto" and is really big (About 2000 students) The reason I'm not sure is because there are lots of people there I would not get along with but my friends are there so that's a plus. So what should I do?

I'm going to start tutoring, if I think I can help the kid. If I do, are there any good websites that can help me out a little bit? I think he is in Advanced Algebra or something like that.
