Well, that depends on your views on Security...
Do you feel threatened by Security?
Does the presence of armed guards watching over your kids, or just watching your kids to protect the teachers bother you?
Or the fact that in today's society, that we feel that there is a need for security in the schools?
Unfortunately, security in schools is being strengthened daily, all over the country. Schools don't want to be sued for allowing something bad to happen, so security gets beefed up in places where there was none.
Be thankful that in your kid's school, that there are only security officers. Some schools have police officers present.

Of course not. There needs to be a secure entry system but not security guards. Some schools do have police officers but they are there in a community role, NOT a security one. I have never worked in or heard of a school in the uk with security guards.

I think schools should appoint a person who kids can report bullying, gang/tribal violence to. When i was at school the teachers turned a blind eye to the bullying that went on (probably because they are swamped with work) Bullying destroys childhoods and the kids who antagonise other children should be punished severely. But they aren't
