How can you get motivated? Think about the kind of career you want to have in the future, think big. Then walk into your local McDonald's or Sainsbury's and take a look at the full-timers in there - that ought to motivate you a little!

Well just think if you don't read the books then you will get bad results. Is it really worth it? You don't really want to have bad gcse results just because you were too lazy to look at your books. You HAVE to do it, simple as that. I used to have breaks in between when I did my gcse's. I didn't revise every single hour or every single day. Just give yourself time out and put down set hours to revise. Then you'll think, only another half hour and I can do what I want or watch tv.

I had similar problems when I was at school.... well to be honest, I still lack motivation and I'm doing a degree! However, I find the best thing for me.. is to reward myself for doing work/revision. Also, make sure you schedual breaks in your revision.. a small break can always be motivating! Good luck x

Sounds like your psyching yourself out because you may feel a little overwhelmed and fearful of failure. You will fail if you do nothing. Assuming you do not want to fail. I suggest setting small study goals. Try to break up the overall reviewing into individual topics or time periods. Study/ review for 30 minutes. Walk away for 15 and then go back and try it for 40 or more. Or just try to learn one thing then break. It doesnt matter how you divide it up...just do what you know you need to do in small manageble chunks. The most important thing is to just start. Once you get going it is easier to keep going. Dont overwhelm yourself. good luck.....Do it NOW!

Your full potential? I've been around the globe at least five times. I've met a great many folks and will tell you that most have never reached their full potential. I was a professional musician, played for the royal family in Sweden, the Chancellor of W.Germany, the President of the United States (twice). I practiced medicine for 23 years, and now, now I pet dogs for a living. Yes, I pet dogs. And get paid well for my services.
I've a friend in Germany who was a conductor on a train. He now builds full scale WW I fighter planes. He has quite the business going and is doing quite well.
The bottom line is simply this, you have to deside what it is you want to do with your life and then come up with a viable plan to achieve that end. And who's to say that after you've achieved one goal, you don't completely shift your focus and run in an entirely different direction? Life is to be enjoyed.

Picture yourself 10 years from now 40 pounds heavier with 4 kids and your husband just walked out on you.

You have zero money and now have to drag your children down to the welfare office all day while you apply for foodstamps.

While you sit there all you can think about is Why am I here? Why didn't I get motivated 10 years ago while I had the chance.

If that doesn't motivate you I don't what will!

The way I did it was by setting myself goals. Give yourself an hour and a point where you'll study to. If you've not finished by that time keep going till you do, if you have then give yourself a break...go and have a drink watch 10 mins of TV, listen to some music. Then do it again. It's a nightmare but you really will regret it if you don't do it now. Good luck!

Heres the way to get motivated: Think to yourself:

1. Do i want to end up stacking shelves in Tescos?
2. Do i want to end up being "that" girl by the side of the road?
3. Do i want to end up being a nobody with a dead end job and no prospects for the future?
4. Do i want to work in Mcdonalds for the minimum wage per hour?
5. Do i want to be on benifits forever?

Then that makes you want to study trust me.

Sounds to me like you need to remove yourself from distractions. NO PHONES (do not answer your phone, do not get on the computer, no t.v., background music okay just not loud and blaring). Set yourself in a peaceful environment, maybe incense if you like it but not too strong, and like I said remove all the distractions I talked about. In the end it all comes down to the fact that it is YOU and only YOU who can do this. No amount of what the school TRIES is going to help you if you aren't willing to see the full picture, which is your future. Best of luck and remember......NO DISTRACTIONS!!

Get up look in the mirror and decide what you want to be in life then decide if being lazy is going to help you achieve it,
If you decide that you want to achieve something stop writing to answers and find some of your own before tesco's and sainsburys tills look like a good job
