The all girls high-schoool is a very good school- 90% of graduates go into university. But it is quite far away, she would have to take the 6:55 bus which goes around for 1and a half hours before it gets to the school.
The normal high school is the 10th best in our area, which is pretty good. And it is much closer.
My daughter has no idea which one is wanst to go to, its 50/50.
Please Help!
Thank you
:)

Ok I know I already asked this but nobody was answering, so please help not hate.

I get incredibly angry every day at school to the point of dreading going and not being able to pay attention. I do not take out my anger on others or on myself, and I have tried talking with the culprits, the teachers, and the administration. Nothing is working, including the efforts I've made to ignore them.

What can *I* do to not get so angry? Please do not tell me to suck it up or ignore them because it is not that simple.

Why are so many parents out there today blaming teachers for the problems that their students are having? Thanks to No Child Left Behind teachers are being literally pushed out of their careers and all of this is because people believe that the accountability is not at high enough standards. I am married to a special education teacher and he puts in more hours than those who work 80 hour a week jobs and he doesn't get paid nearly what they get paid! He has to take required professional developments in order for the school to get funding for reading from the government. These professional developments equal 80 credit hours of work with each course requiring 2 to 4 hours of work a week on top of everything else that a teacher has to do such as lesson planning, grading, strategizing and the list goes on. Why are so many blaming teachers when their students are not doing well? Ninety-five percent of the students who are not successful are a direct result from their parents lack of support

My mother is going to be 50. Can I say my mother will be 50? Sometimes there is not much difference between will and going to for predicting the future. So, is this the case?

My daughter is 5 and has asthma; so every cold that she gets settles right in her chest and makes for a very nasty cough. Well this is my daughters first year in public schools and I have received a letter in the mail yesterday and a phone call from the counselor today regarding her absenteeism. Do you think the schools should be more concerned with a childs attendence if there is a valid medical condition that is prohibitting them from attending school or the individual childs health? my irritation comes from the question the counselor left me "what can we do to have your daughter here every day?" well if there was a pill to cure her asthma or magically make her immune to colds by all means! she'd be there everyday; but there isn't and as a mother my concern and my first priority is that my child is healthy; if she's not whats the point in sending her to school if she's sick and not able to learn and retain whats being taught! What do you think?

My son's middle school wants to discontinue acclerated classes because they think it creates a have and have not division. They favor differentiation classes where the teachers teach on many levels within the group. Do you think this is a good idea? This is for 7th and 8th graders. They high school offers AP classes.

I keep getting stupid letters saying That the National Honor Roll wants to abduct me into their catalogue to sell to people, or something like that. Now Online it seems that NHR is a scam aimed to get me to pay for a worthless book. My guidance counselor says it is useless. Ive told a teacher about it and said that info online says its a scam.
How did they get the scores for the last year Massachusetts Biology standardized test for freshman in some places anyway.
There really are prestigious sites about it being good and some not so prestigious that seem right. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=national+honor+roll&btnG=Google+Search
Coulld it help me with scholarships even though it is scammy?

I'm sitting here in Oklahoma and I can't go any place because of the ice and snow. It's a beautiful thing to look at, and nature won over the bug problem this year. However our schools have been closed for a week. People are fighting viruses that are seasonal, and it's hard to go any place. I truly think it would be a great idea if schools let out December through February for the annual break. Then started the new school year in March. I think it would be an attitude changer for folks to start all of that just before Spring. That way everybody would not have to rush for Christmas and the old year could end with the holiday of Thanksgiving. What do you think?

Hi,
My son is 10 and is in elementary school, his teacher always centers him out and just today we had some snow for the first time this year and all the kids got to go sledding on the hill at the back of the school. The teacher told my son that because he didn't have boots or snowpants he had to stay at the school and read meanwhile the whole school got to go outside and have fun. Since this is the first day we have had snow i haven't seen a need to buy my son new boots or snowpants but he does have a warm winter coat, hat, scarf and mittens. Do you think his teacher was justified in making my son stay in while the whole school was out sledding?
