I keep getting stupid letters saying That the National Honor Roll wants to abduct me into their catalogue to sell to people, or something like that. Now Online it seems that NHR is a scam aimed to get me to pay for a worthless book. My guidance counselor says it is useless. Ive told a teacher about it and said that info online says its a scam.
How did they get the scores for the last year Massachusetts Biology standardized test for freshman in some places anyway.
There really are prestigious sites about it being good and some not so prestigious that seem right. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=national+honor+roll&btnG=Google+Search
Coulld it help me with scholarships even though it is scammy?
I want to resolve this

Its just recognition for your achievements. you dont have to buy the book or anything, thats where they make their money. but its good to actually have your name written somewhere that shows that you did awesome in school. but paying that much for a book is dumb. i did it and they just sit there collecting dust. just submit your name and what you did, because you dont pay anything for that. save your money for college.

since the letter they send you comes from Washington D.C. you would assume its official...but the purpose is just another way that the NSA can collect information since they require you to send a profile..also I recently looked up the site that supposedly the letter was printed on...and it no longer exists..funny how that is...sure its been years but if it was on the up and up don't you think they would maintain the website..the closest thing I can find now is the NHS.org...maybe they changed the name and website interface but it still seems suspicious the site would disappear entirely rather than redirect you to a new updated version...

It is a huge scam! They are only doing that to publish some book listing your name, and then they want to sell it to you at some ungodly price. It will not help with any scholarships, so please keep your money in your pocket and throw those things in the trash.......

It's fun to sit around with your similarly gifted friends. Also you get a nice piece of junk jewelry. And, you get to do service hours; I spent mine shelving books in the school library, what fun.
