yesterday i won the school spelling bee. today i went to the regional bee and only had one day to study. all of the other kids got weeks and weeks to study their words. even though i got 4th place out of 33 kids i feel i could've done better if our school spelling bee was at least a week ago.do you agree?

Considering that you placed fourth out of 33 kids, I'd say you were pretty well prepared. Don't sweat it. Take pride in the fact that you performed remarkably well for someone who may not have received the same amount of prep time as the kids you competed against.

You've probably already this tired cliche, but I'll repeat it anyway -"It's not whether you win or lose, but how you play the game." Obviously you played very well. Next time, you'll probably do even better.

Did you have no idea you might win and go to regionals?

How long did you have to study before the school spelling bee?

Don't feel cheated- you did the best you could with what you had, and everyone knows it.

4th place is good but I do see what you mean. However, look at it this way though...if you had won first place the other students might had got upset that they had so much down time whereas you were on a roll and your mind didn't have time to relax.

Sounds like your school is unorganized. congrats on finishing 4th.
