My dad taught me to drive on a stick shift -- a skill that few girls had! I also took the Drivers Ed class at school which taught me more the rules, and the teacher taught us how to change a tire, and to recognize which color fluid dripping under your car meant what problem etc.

I took a drivers ed class that was offered during high school hours when I was 17. But the summer before I took drivers ed, my father set up an obsticle course of sorts in my back yard and had me use the old beater to practice.

I taught my kids to drive, but afterwards I sent them all to defensive driving school so they could get a second opinion!
So far it has worked well - no accidents! (knock wood!)
But I am a pretty patient guy. I think there are definitely some parents for whom this would NOT be a good plan.

I learned with my dad. He began to let me sit in his lap and drive home from school when I was 10. We also had a huge field beside my house he used to let me and my brothers drive the truck in

All of the above. The more practice you have, the easier it is to pass the test. By the time I took the driving test, I felt as comfortable driving as I do now.

My high school football coach taught me to drive. I went out with my mom a few times, but she was too hyper.

Wow that sucks. perchance you purely might desire to discover ways to settle for that your mothers and dads are actually not the terrific, and are terrible while liking others extra suitable than the others. there is not lots you're able to do, different than circulate on with your independence, and discover yet another kin to bond with (its conceivable). You sound like a astounding daughter, and its tragic the way they're treating you.
