As most people have already said, Spanish is the 2nd most spoken language in America, so that is a good choice. Alternatively, if you are planning on expanding the number of languages you study later on, you might want to take Latin because so many other languages are derived from it (including Spanish).
Concerning wood shop vs. cooking, I think you should take the one you have the least experience in. Don't just take the class because it will be easy for you, but step out of your comfort zone and use the class as a tool to build a life skill in an area you aren't strong in. If your skills are comparable in both areas, I would suggest wood shop because cooking is more easily learned at home.

Spanish is spoken the most in America after English and particularly in California and should help you get a job. If you see yourself becoming a chef in the future, then pick cooking. If you see yourself becoming a carpenter, then pick woodshop. If you can, check with your counselor to see if your school has the option of taking a 0 period class so you can fit another class into the day.

I would go with woodshop if I were you. And for the second language, I suggest taking Spanish if you plan to have a job in America. If you plan to have a job anywhere else, like Canada for example, take French.

Well, take Spanish if you want a useful language. But if you are not not into the oral part (speaking and listening) of learning a language, you would be better off with Latin.
I'd say just flip a coin on the other option.

Though I believe this is all personal choice, I would suggest taking cooking (it's more unique, since tons of boys take woodshop). Take Spanish. It's spoken alot here and is fairly easy to learn.

Go with woods, a handy man is always a good thing. though you want to pick what you want to do, i haven't taken cooking yet but i did take woods last year. Very helpful it was. As for language, Spanish will be what you benefit from most. It is the most commonly heard foreign Lang. in the US and many other places.

Speaking Espanol will help you get a job.
Cooking or woodshop - I took both but I liked woodshop more. Whichever you're more interested in.
