In the early hours of Sunday morning, two of my school friends were killed tragically in a car crash. Dom and Trist were on the way back from a party, when the driver lost control of the car and crashed. There were six passengers in the car, the other four have all survived. The Rector at church told me in the morning, and as Sunday was my 16th birthday, it didn't properly hit me then - i was too happy and excited. But yesterday school was awful. I spent the whole of first lesson (an hour and 10 minutes) in tears, and i thought i was calm until i got to the church that morning: i had a rehearsal for the service that night. I was in floods of tears, and everyone was so nice to me, which made it worse. The service was so hard last night, but i managed to get through it... my greatest thank yous go to Simon for getting me through it. Now i think i'm all cried out, although i still feel really down...so i was just wondering: what would you do to cheer me up?

Can anyone tell me what the nearest Primary Schools are like, and if they are any good. Could you also tell me how multi-cultural they are. Are there any good private primary schools in the area?

Is "She has teached," correct grammer? Or should I use 'taught'? I am confused, because it sounds kind of weird both ways.

During timed tests, she refuses to move on to the next question if she is unsure of the answer, and is not finishing. If there is any doubt in her mind as to the answer, she will keep reading the material over and over until she is sure. She will not guess. She scored in the 98 percentile on the Nagliari Non Verbal test and was just tested for the gifted program in our school district. She is a straight A student, very intelligent, and hard working. She is not lazy and her teacher says she does not daydream or waste time. Her teacher has never seen anything like this and does not know what to recommend to help her. She has been a perfectionist since she was born. When she was younger, she would have "melt downs" if she did not do something to her own satisfaction. (Rip up pictures she was coloring if she went out the lines, things like that.) I have always told her that it is OK if things are not perfect; that no one expects perfection, but she is very strong minded.

My 10 year old son is considered "able" at school yet has the worst handwriting imaginable (think 5 year old). He's part of a special handwriting group, but it doesn't seem to help.

The other day he was assessed to see whether he may have some form of dyslexia that's causing this, but doesn't appear to.

Does anyone know if there are any other explanations I can look into. It's holding him back considerably.

Also, the assessment sheet had these details:

Non-verbal reasoning 75th%ile, BPVS - standardised score 89%ile, rank 24, AE 7.5.

Can you decipher this for me?

Many thanks
