I'm a teacher and when kids try to make excuses like "I'll never need this stuff in real life," etc., I tell them that their brain needs exercise as much as their body does, and that's what all school work is - brain strengthening. Just like football players don't do sit ups or lift weights during a game, but they couldn't play as well if they didn't do all those things. The drills and workouts prepare them mentally and physically for the things their body needs to do during a game, just like equivalent fractions or Punnett Squares give the brain a workout to strengthen it for everyday life and jobs.

With going to school, you learn to better yourself. You can gain new skills to help you in your career, down the line. If you really have to ask the question though, then you might not really want to try school.

You only get out of it what you put into it. Hopefully a good education. Never stop learning.
