There is so much war and hate that my vision of education as it is now is neglected. If this does not change then we can not move towards a knowledgeable society.

I think the entire world is thinking like a caveman.

Apprenticeship - on the job with Masters in whatever field, and Mentoring.
We are losing the majority of what is termed "The Greatest Generation". It is the level of knowlege and the level of civility and common sense that they possess, and the pursuit of that knowledge, that raises them above the rest.

The generation I speak of went through the depression, and appreciate what they have. They respect hard work and diligence, and demonstrated that in the workplace and often at home as well.

We can't teach those things in a textbook. So apprenticeship and mentoring are KEY. Textbook work is sometimes viewed as unfufilling. But textbook work, along with hands on field work, is the key to reaching educational goals. If viewed and used correctly, school work will result in fulfillment of a life career of your choosing.

Without the understanding of these things, work is shoddier, people care less for the product or the interaction that brings productivity, or the customer. Money is the bottom line, so cutting corners is OK (until someone dies because too many shortcuts were taken)

My mother journals extensively, is a dying breed. How important is our history to us, and how do we gather it if there are no chronicles? TV is sound bites. We need good people in the print media, who focus on news, not editorializing.

Every field needs people who are willing to take time to look it up or, if nothing is found, do encoding and research and write it yourself!

Especially in the Science and Engineering fields. People willing to pick up a slide rule, and know how to use it when there are no computers handy. To get excited about figuring it out by yourself.

How else will you become the generation who will be regarded as the masters in your field?
And HOW do you envision that? If you don't see it, it is time to pursue and learn from the masters before it is too late!!

Roger W Haines (see source area below) has shared his grave concerns that the education level today is lacking in many ways. Of the books he wrote, parts are too difficult, say the professors. If that is so, Haines asks, then WHO will master the concepts and someday teach them, if not the college students of today? He is not alone in his concern. Across the nation there are scientists and engineers and others bemoaning these things.

If the masters in the fields can understand what they are doing, then you, the next generation HAVE the abilty!! YES YOU DO!! But will you sieze upon that and make the effort to utilize the skills that are within. Or will you rely soley on the computer, calculator, or spend hours playing video games. If so, you will be passed by and will not be called to help or teach when the next generation is struggling. You will be struggling with them.
It is time to wake up. It is payback time. STUDY! and study something you love!

My parents will say: find someone to appprentice with, or find a small group focused on achedemia. Write letters until you get anwers.

And I say to those who are "just support" to those who will make this effort, you are far more! Without you these great things cannot be accomplished! So be encouraged!

education gives a person a correct place in the society and he is a usefull member in the society.we know education is got through sweat and without sleep. a person stays awake and spends his energy, time andevery thing to get the thing in his head without indulging in the worldy pleasure like sex, movies etc.weekly watching one movie is ok and littledrinks weekly once ok.but to get the stuff of 14 subjects with 6 theory or7 theroy containing 6000 pages it takes lot of time and energy to get the stuff in the head.so one must struggle and study and no teacher can give you or get you exam paper for you.even correction is not done by them.
so getting good marks etc you understand what the world is because it in hard work .so you learn to respect people with education where decentcy and respect for each other and we work in harmony to achive the companys, factorys target.
so only education can get you good things in life.
mother ,father may die .but the education givien by them will remain till your last breath.even if evil try spoil you at work they can never steal your education and if they do that god will punish millions people , kids ,student etc.
have the tendency of forget and forgive and religion is well established to save humanity from such evils and we have so many epics to show the example.
respect religion and have education which in supreme in this world.

Education is evolving from a giver - receiver situation to a learner guide situation. This develops each person as an independent life long learner , who at times needs a guide. We need to end the idea that education is our basic schooling until we are 18 and that it is a never ending process.

well, first thing is to abolish the "no child left behind" act, or at least amend it for the greater good. Some kids just shouldnt go to college, at least not right out of highschool, and money and time could be better spent preparing those who want to learn and go. That said, a basic set of skills should be taught, enough to enable those kids to prepare themselves for their futures, whatever they choose to do. It may sound old fashioned, but "the three r's" should be taught, the rest is fluff.

I am going to home school any children that I have because I do not like the school systems. I do not like the fights and shootings that happen, or the attendance policies, or the homework policies, or rude teachers, or any of it.
