Can anyone tell me what the nearest Primary Schools are like, and if they are any good. Could you also tell me how multi-cultural they are. Are there any good private primary schools in the area?

I think you should look at:
www.kirklees.gov.uk
This will give you a good listing of the schools and facilities. It must supply factual and truth full answers because of the Data Protection Act.
On the last point, you could look in the Headmasters Conference site (www.hmc.org.uk) and check out the prep schools used by each school. If you are going this route I hope you have plenty of money.
If you are looking for private primary school to get your child into a particular secondary school then check the key stage 2 league tables. This link may give you the information you want:

Huddersfield is highly multi-cultural, west indians are rife in the area and fixby is a very nice area in Huddersfield, my sister has in-laws there who are dentists. I think you will like the area (although you don't say where you are moving from) and you'll have a good choice of schools to pick from, Good luck.
