There are ways you can modify this game to be non-exclusionary, not un- but less biased and safer to play...but many Physical? Educators beleive it is healthy in its raw form. How was your experiences in that activity? (Some teachers refer to this as different names like "Prison Ball", "Ball Tag" and whatever else...

Personally, I was one of the more athletic kids. Even though I was a jerk in my youth, I did try to help less-skilled kids escape the onslaught of more dominant peers.

(I am a future P.E. and Health teacher and I don't find the original format of the game health for the educational setting at all...for many reasons, but what are yours? - for or against.)

In school last year, my daughter was charged reward points to go to the bathroom. I let the school know that policy was unacceptable and it stopped. Now six days into the new school year the same issue arises. This issue has been ongoing for to long, I have adult children who I went through the same thing with. When and how can we get our educators (not all of them) but those who haven't been enlightened to the fact that going to the bathroom is a necessity as much as eating is? Teachers understand that children all learn differently. Why can't they accept that children's bodys also function as differently as their brains?
I expect my child to be respectful of her teachers at all times, but telling my child or any child that going to the bathroom is a privilege is nothing short of abuse of power. It angers me that an educator would put a parent in this position. We are trying to teach our child to respect them and they behave in a way undeserving of respect.

My daughter has entered K at age 5 1/2 and is fooling around behind the teacher's back, getting in trouble in the restroom, cafeteria, in the afterschool play group and everywhere else. She attended preschool for 3 years and never had problems this severe before. She says she is bored but that she likes the teacher. The teacher said my daughter will have lunch with the Principal from now on after she smeared catsup all over the lunch table with another girl. Unfortunately, the other girl alledgedly started it but my daughter is the only one going to the principal's for lunch. Are we headed for scapegoat territory here? The more important question is whether or not, given the severity of her behavior, whether she will ever settle down. We thought she had the social skills to make it, she's bright, and no preschool teacher ever signaled warnings of this kind of behavior. She is also hitting kids on the playground after school, can't settle in sitting next to certain others. Help!
