How many people think the article about the parents saying we don't want our kids to eat jamie's low-fat rubbish, is wrong. These people are taking burgers and fast foods, passing them through the fence of the school are these people trying to send there kids to an early grave? They were even taking orders from other kids, im a mother and want my kid to eat healthy, what would you do if you found these people were buying unhealthy food for your kids and you want the to eat health?

In today's world of global terrorism, our schools are not well protected. I think schools should have more security presence to protect our kids from attacks and stop fights. I believe they should have metal detectors installed and couple of police officers patrolling the school. What do you think?

They'd be in major debt. Plus does it matter if you went to a regular state school or harvard for English? Once you get your first job your degree doesn't really mean that much anymore .

I am proud to be a geek/nerd, obsessive computer programming, spend my lunch time in the library, joined the knitting club, book club, in the school marching band, listen to goth, death, heavy metal, and dress like a boy.

Up until now, I had no problems with my personality, until 4 different girls started picking on me for those traits.

I don't think I should change because of them, but any advice?

The schoolkids opposite my place pull their shirt out of their trousers as they come out of school to catch the bus to go home. Is this fashion or has it some deeper meaning?

Most universities don't consider this grade for this couse when deciding places. Some 6th forms make the study of this subject compulsory - is this fair? Thankfully my 6th form didn't and I didn't study it. What did you do? Should General Studies be consigned to the dustbin of history?

As an LSA I work with many different ability children. But 2 in particular (aged 8) are liars, thieves, bullies, lazy and seem to enjoy trouble. No matter how much time and attention you give them, they hit, punch, kick, lie, steal and disrupt all the time. Are they just going to turn out bad no matter what you do?

My two youngest children, ages 2 and 4, attend a wonderful Montessori school. We plan to keep our kids there through kindergarten but don't know what to do after that since our school goes to 6th Grade.

Is it worth it to keep my kids at this school? (The cost isn't an issue). Has anyone out there transitioned their children from Montessori to public/private schools? I'd also love to hear from parents who have/had children enrolled in a Montessori school through 6th grade (or beyond).

Think back to your childhood. We were always taught Columbus set out to prove the world was round by finding an alternate route to the East Indies. Yes, he wanted an alternate route, but everyone at the time knew the earth was round. Yet we (Americans) teach our children he was different, and wanted to prove the earth was round. Why? Why not just tell them he wanted an easier way to get to the East Indies? Why do we need the flat earth story?

I know...a crush is a a crush...but I am not so sure about this one...??

We get on really well and he likes me very much, I am sure. He sometimes pats me on the shoulder and smiles at me broadly. He's probably in his 25's - 30's.

Other thing I am concerned about is that, is he being so kind to me...is it because he's actually feeling sorry for me????

Cos, I have this cochlear implant...well, a little bit of the hearing disabilty. But, that's not a big problem cos I can hear about 90%.

And I speak well. I do so well in school...and evryone really likes me. I lead, what I would mostly say, a normal life...
But, I am confused now becuase, recently, when I told of my crush to my big sister she told me that it was just because he was feeling sorry for me cos of my hearing disabilty and wants me to work well in class..

Is this true? I am quite uset and annopyed! He should like me because of the way I am..and because I have a such a great personality...

The bad kids disrupt a healthy learning envronment for the other children. Why don't teachers just get rid of the bad kids once they reach 16. You give them a few chances and then just ask them to leave. Tell them they aren't permitted anymore. Maybe instead of the "No child left behind" system, we could start a "no good child left behind" system.

When the parents call and ask why their kids aren't at school, the school should say, "I'm sorry, we have tried and tried to get your child to do work and pay attention, but we can't babysit your monster anymore. We have decided to let him/her go." Of course...this happens after it is obvious the regular school discipline isn't working anymore...
