Other - Education - June 2007

I am really nervous going to a place I have never been. I am planning on going to college in Long Island, NY; at the Briarcliffe college to study Digital photography. I have never been there but plan on visiting before applying and meeting with the adminstrators there. Getting all my information and what i need filled out to get financial aid, loans and apply for grants.

I have only really been through New York going through, I wonder if I should just go for it and set my fears aside. I have lived in a rural area all my life in New England area. I wonder if i could stand dorming and staying in the city. Do you think I should just go for it?

I am coming from a place where there are mountains, folliage that changes in the fall, cows!, farms, no traffic only in major towns/cities, no sky scrapers...

Im just wondering, and my gpa is 3.5
Do they look more than just your scores and gpa to get accepted?

im an international student, and i would be attending a college in the UK in september. 2

days ago, i made a request to the London University Union about accommodation, ant they wrote back --- Please can you send me a clear email which indicates what you would like your accommodation choices to be listed as and can you list them in order of preference --- i simply just dont understand this sentece, plus i know the meaning of every single word in this sentece, but what exacty does it mean?

i feel like im really bad at acadamic writing and sending formal emails, lol im in a dilemma

I recently "dropped out" of high school (technically I'm in home school, but I really don't do any of the schooling, and nobody checks up on it) for personal issues with the administration. I'm wanting to go to UCLA, but I will most likely go to a community college. And I was wondering do I need to get a GED or enroll in HS and get a diploma, to even attend a college? Is it different for each school?

I don't know what to do careerwise? I can't do with anything long enough, (I give up to easy/soon) and I'm no that intellectual (smart). So I have no idea what to do careerwise. I though about college-nursing, cosmetology, and a few others but I can't stand to wait that long (to begin/or too many yrs. to complete the program). I have a short attention span, is that bad? I just want to get started right away. I could be motivated for something one day and not for it the next day, and already be moved on to another career/job. For instants, Yesterday I thought about teaching, now I'm thinking about nursing, next it will proably be something totally different. Is this Normal? I also have 0 motivation, which doesn't help. Do you know of any decent Careers that sound like they would fit me, if thats even possible. Nothing Stupid Plez! (You will be ignored!)

I have an interview on Thursday. Does a drug screening test come on that day as well, or are screening tests used randomly, or on a need basis? When I say need basis, I mean do they test you if you're acting funny on the job? If any former or current employees can verify, it'd be very appreciated.
