I am applying to doctoral programs in I/O Psychology. Is it completely innappropriate to include a small picture tacked onto my application? I don't know if this would be helpful in the reviewers putting a face to the name, or if it would come off as juvenile or conceited. Thanks in advance!

I just want some encouragement to know that it is possible for me to get accepted into a good PhD program with the GPA I have or seeking to have. I am a non-traditional student and I'm not sure what is considered to be a good GPA. I am applying for the honors society at Miami University (Oxford, Ohio). I also want to be a part of a summer study program. Right now, I have started a study on the regional economics of Central Appalachia, which will be my honors thesis if I get accepted into the program, if I don't it will still be an ongoing study. But what if I don't get accepted? Can the things I do outside of classroom make up for what I don't do in the classroom? Is there anyone who can define the thin line that separates a successful PhD candidate from one who isn't?

I want to apply to a good university, but my GPA is a bit low...3.2.
Is there anything I can do during the summer that can pull up my GPA? Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

I'm 18 years old and I'm in grade 12. This is my last year of high school. Afterwards, I'm going to college for a few years, then I plan to become a police officer. It's been my biggest dream for as long as I can remember.

My CP doesn't affect me enormously, I live an active life style. I'm doing well in school, I'm not a straight A student however my marks are good.

Do you think any police department would accept a male with a mild case of CP ? I'm not overweight and I do not have any muscle spasms. I'm well built and healthy.

Thanks

Would you recommend any train stations / bus stops that are the most "crowded"?
Or would you pick up leaflets / go to Job Fairs / look into your University's magazine?

Hey, My subject may be a little confusing, so I clarify it here.

I'm currently in university in Canada, and I am unfamiliar with the American GPA system. I understand that while an A- in Canada is 80-84, It is not the case in America.

So, My question is, for instance, the average GPA for, say, McGill's Medical School (Montreal) is 3.9, i.e. above 85 but not 90....when all these American schools say...various GPA values...what do they mean? Are American High-school GPAs equal to American University GPAs?

For instance, if Harvard Medical School says that their av. GPA is 3.9...what does that equal?

So for American Universities, what percentages correspond to their associated GPA values...

80%=???
85%=???
90%=???

or conversely,

3.7=???
3.9=???

I'm querying about only American Universities and not high schools.
Thanks!

I know there's an admissions committee and all, but does anyone know how they weight different parts, like GPA and test scores and whatnot?

Yeah, I didn't get in, but their form letter describing the process isn't loading.
