All of the Cal States charge about $3700 a year for tuition and fees for in-state tuition which is pretty darn cheap! You have your choice of schools in the Bay area -- San Fransisco State is in the city. East Bay and San Jose are also close by.

Many of the CSU Master's programs are offered at night, so if you need to keep working to support yourself this is possible.

Most of the better schools are private, and thus expensive. If you are looking at getting a master's in Economics, then UC Berkeley is not too expensive and is great, if you can get in (but if you want an MBA, it is expensive because Haas, the business school, is self-supporting and thus able to charge as if they were a private school). Otherwise, look at San Jose State or San Francisco State for a relatively inexpensive option.

Probably the CSU's are the least expensive, although your going to pay quite a bit for living expenses. CSU Hayward, Sonoma, San Jose or San Francisco.

University of San Fransisco, Santa Clara University, Stanford, I guess most of the universities are acceptable. Public universities are cheaper than private ones. Oh, a university is a group of colleges. There not too many four year colleges that stand alone; they belong to a university setting.
